Henry Mo -
MD & Chief economist, AIG
Dr. Mo is a managing director and the chief economist at AIG. In this role, he is responsible for providing
macroeconomic projections and international residential and commercial real estate forecasts for the
firm’s asset management (+$360bn AUM) and insurance businesses. Previously, Dr. Mo worked as a
director and senior economist in the Economics Research team at Credit Suisse and a research assistant
at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Dr. Mo received both his MPhil and PhD in
Economics from the Graduate School and University Center, City University of New York and BS in
Electronics and Information System from Zhongshan University. He also studied in the Mathematics in
Finance Program at New York University and in the Economics Program at the Graduate School of
Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, respectively. Dr. Mo is a CFA charter holder, a member of Council
for Asset and Investment Management at The Institute of International Finance (IIF), and a former board
member of TCFA.
Election Statement
My name is Henry Mo. It is a great honor for me to run for the next president of TCFA. Many thanks
for your trust and nomination. I was a TCFA board member between 2015 and 2016 and a core
management team member since 2015. Over the past several years, I've been actively involved in many
TCFA activities, including speaking at conferences, organizing panel discussion for TCFA’s annual
conference, meeting high level delegation from China, and participating TCFA mentoring program, etc.
Since its establishment, TCFA has served as an important platform to facilitate, promote and bridge the
exchange between US and China. Under the current political environment, efficient communication
and exchange between the U.S. and China is even more important than before in forging consensus
and reducing misunderstanding. TCFA has the avenue to promote exchange and I would like to
continue contributing to this strategic direction.
TCFA has many truly wonderful and talented people. I have been fortunate enough to get to know a
lot of them and become good friends with them throughout my years with TCFA. It will be a great
honor to serve as TCFA’s President and a privilege to work with all of you to bring TCFA to the next
level.

Hui Fan – Candidate for Board Director Director, AIG
Dr. Hui Fan is currently a Director at AIG’s Asset Management group, where his team is in charge of building the quantitative investment platform to forecast the financial performance of investments at AIG and help facilitate the Chief Investment Officer in making strategic investment decisions. The system is also the foundation of CCAR stress testing and budget reporting at AIG Asset Management. Prior to AIG, Hui spent 6 years at Morgan Stanley’s risk department and Moody’s derivatives group, with rich experiences in risk management, modeling and trading. He is a CFA Charter Holder and an active contributor to Seeking Alpha. He also won the 2nd Prize in the 2013 TCFA Global Investment Contest. Hui has a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.S./M.S. from Tsinghua University.

This statement is to express my strong interest to run for TCFA Director for 2018-2020. I have been a TCFA registered member since 2007 and am currently a TCFA Board member. In the last 2 years I have been actively involved in various TCFA activities, including prepare the TCFA annual conference brochure, organizing the TCFA mentor event and Investment Contest. I have 10 years working experience and currently a Director at AIG Asset Management, before that I worked at Morgan Stanley and Moody’s Investors Services performing credit analysis for Structured Products. I had a PhD of Industrial Engineering from RPI, BS/MS from Tsinghua Univ., and am a CFA Charter Holder. In the last 2 years serving at TCFA’s board, I gained tremendous good experience and get to know many good friends in TCFA. Therefore I would like to rerun for the TCFA director in 2018.

Kun Gao – Candidate for Board Director
Dr. Kun Gao has extensive investment management experience at leading Wall Street hedge funds and investment banks, including Tudor Investment Corporation, Balyasny Asset Management and Morgan Stanley. As Senior Portfolio Manager, he leads, manages and grows all aspects of his trading business operation with a focus on global equity market. He runs one of the largest quantitative books at these leading hedge funds for many years. Kun received a B.S. in Statistics from Peking University and a Ph.D. in Statistics from Yale University. He contributed a book chapter about quantitative equity trading for Financial Engineering (Wiley, 2011). He won Excellent Debater Prize in the International Collegiate Debate Contest representing the Yale Chinese Debate Team.
Election Statement
As a Chinese professional in hedge fund industry, I run for the board for two main reasons: 1. Build a bridge between students and the hedge fund professionals, providing mentoring/networking opportunities for students who are interested in a career in hedge funds; 2. Build connections between Chinese and US asset management companies. Help facilitate US-China asset management company communications; I hope to bring some unique aspects to the TCFA.

Li Liu – Candidate for Board Director
Ph.D., Executive Director, Morgan Stanley
Li Liu is an Executive Director and global head of Market Risk and Credit Risk Capital in the risk management department of Morgan Stanley. His team’s responsibilities include calculating Basel 3 capital, FRTB and Basel 4 programs, and projecting RWAs for CCAR. Previously Li was a director and head of US Derivatives Counter Party Exposure Management team at Barclays from 2009 to 2015. He provided real time sizing of margins and exposures for structured derivatives and financing transactions, performed stress testing counter party portfolios, and participated in Basel 3 rollout. Li is the President of TCFA from 2017 to 2018. Previously he served as member of the board and worked as co-chair of the New York chapter. Li holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago, and a B.S. from Peking University.
Election Statement
I am currently the President of TCFA. I have been an active core member of TCFA’s New York chapter since 2009. I served as a board member from 2013 to 2015, with the last year as the Chairman of the Board. I led the preparation work of the 23rd Annual Conference a year ago as the President Elect. I have been actively involved in all aspects of TCFA’s development and activities. In the 2017 to 2018 term, TCFA has established the Blockchain initiative, re-launched the Investment Contest, expanded local chapters, and migrated the website to a new IT system. Going forward, I will focus on expanding and recruiting the all-volunteer core management team. As a long-term active core member of TCFA, I strongly believe in the missions of our organization which is to facilitate the exchange of ideas in finance and related areas between the US and China; help the development of capital markets in China; and to serve its members in career development. Through my involvements in helping TCFA to achieve its goals, I have been inspired by the fellow members of leadership team, of their dedication, professionalism and friendship. Hui Shao – Candidate for Board Director
Director, Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Hui Shao is a Director in the Global Risk Analytics of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. The team is mainly responsible for the development of models and system for counterparty risk management, regulatory capital calculation, stressed testings and fair value adjustments. Previously, Hui worked as a Senior Manager in the Quantitative Advisory Service in Ernst and Young and quantitative analyst in Moody’s Investors Service. Hui holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Peking University and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.
Election Statement
I have been quite active in the student unions and alumni associations in Peking University and Columbia University, both have the largest alumni population inside and outside TCFA. I have also served as a career mentor and did successfully refer one of my mentees to work in BAML. I attend the TCFA conference/election every year and have been involved in many activities. I am currently the Vice Chair of US-China Economic and Trade Association and can share some experience and resources across the platforms. I plan to leverage my connections in the US and China and help TCFA obtain more sponsorships. I am also giving some lectures in Columbia and other places and understand what exactly the junior TCFA members need. So I look forward to building or enhancing bridges to promote TCFA as the best association of Chinese in the financial industry.

Jue Wang – Candidate for Board Director
Strategist and Trader, Putnam Investments
Jue Wang is currently an investment strategist and trader at the fixed income investment group of Putnam Investments, a 170 billion+ global asset management firm based in Boston. In his role, he comanages Putnam’s multi-billion macro volatility strategy book with a focus on G4 interest rate options market. He is responsible for day to day oversight of the options portfolio; trading ideas/signals research, derivatives trading execution (electronic and OTC); as well as pricing and model development. He also develops systematic strategies for global rates and currencies markets. Before joining Putnam Investments, Jue worked as a quantitative analyst at the interest rate options trading desk of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Jue is the Chief Technology Officer (2014-Present) and the Board Member (2016-2018) of the Chinese Finance Association (TCFA). In his role as TCFA’s CTO, he has oversight several TCFA’s key technology advancements including the transformation of TCFA’s new website; the enhancement of cyber-security to protect TCFA members and the launch of TCFA’s official account on WeChat. Jue is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has a PhD degree in Physics from Stony Brook University. He received his Master of Financial Engineering degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley. He also graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Nanjing University.

I serve as TCFA’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) since 2014 and Board Member since 2016 and would appreciate your support for me to continue to contribute to TCFA by serving as its Board of Director. During the past few years, I led several key technology advancements to better serve TCFA’s members globally. We transformed TCFA’s website to a new robust and secure technology platform to shield TCFA ‘s website and its registered members from web-based cyber-security attacks. With the enhancements of the website, TCFA’s registered paid membership have grown to more than five thousand globally. We also launched TCFA’s official account on WeChat platform to swiftly promote TCFA events and job postings for our sponsors. In the future, we will continue to provide high quality service for TCFA members for mentor-ship, career development, networking, seminars and events. Gung Yang– Candidate for Board Director
Guang Yang, Director of Board of TCFA.
With over 18 years of working experience in major international financial centers: New York, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai, Guang has been holding management roles in several financial institutions, such as leading the international business of GJ Financial Holdings as Deputy CEO and Templeton Capital as Partner, managing the portfolio of Asian companies listed in US and Europe for Citigroup, leading European Central Bank's secondary market project across 14 countries, etc. He also worked in JPMorgan's Division of International Banking and BNY Mellon's Developing Market Department in New York. Guang started his career at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as one of its first a few analysts recruited in Asia, and then shifted to investment banking by joining HSBC in Hong Kong and London. He is the co-author of a World Bank White Paper, and has been interviewed by Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, People's Daily, CCTV, China Daily, and other media for comments on financial markets. Besides being a financial professional, Guang is a TV personality who used to host the first bilingual Music TV show in China, and various international events and forums in US, Europe and Asia. Guang has been a core member of TCFA since 2006/07 and Director of Board for 6 years. He is currently the Chief PR Officer in charge of media relations and other public affairs. He also helped lead TCFA's career advisory programs for junior professionals and students. He received his master degree from Columbia University and bachelor degree from Fudan University. He is currently the Chairman of Fudan Alumni Association of USA, and an Adjunct Professor of Columbia University.

I joined TCFA in 2006/7, and, thanks to all members' support, was elected as Board Director in 2012. Currently I am also serving as the Chief PR Officer of TCFA. It will be a great honor if I can have the opportunity to continue working together with so many talented professionals and making contributions to this wonderful organization. Since becoming the Board Director and the Chief PR Officer of TCFA, I've rebuilt the media program by establishing an interactive platform and long term relationships with most of the major media in US and China. For the past 6 years, there have been over 60 agencies and thousands of articles reporting TCFA's annual conference and other events. With all efforts, TCFA has made appearance on all main stream western financial media such as Bloomberg, WSJ, Dow Jones and Reuters, as well as Chinese media such as People's Daily, CCTV, China Daily, China Radio International, CBN, 21st Century, etc. PR and media team has contributed to the making of TCFA as one of the most influential and well regarded organizations of Chinese financial professionals, both in US and China. I also had the privilege to work with other TCFA members to lead TCFA's career advisory workshops for junior professionals and students, acting as a key speaker to recruitments, mock interviews and career consulting seminars, and helping student members in their job hunting and career advancement.
If I'm lucky enough to get re-elected, besides continuing to work hard to enhance the brand value of TCFA and serve more TCFA members, I’d like to: - initiate more events for students and young professionals, who stand for the future of TCFA. For example, I'm working with China Finance Society and SMG to launch the "Jin-Hua" Cup Competition on Financial Planning for college Students, which will be open to the students in US universities. In the mean time, I've contacted many senior professionals on Wall Street and worked with several alumni associations of Chinese universities here in US such as Tsinghua, PKU, FDU, SJTU, ZJU, NJU, CSTU to provide mentorship programs and lectures to students and junior professionals, which have gained great popularity and reputation as well. - further promote the connections among Chinese financial professionals between US and China. Being in the management of a reputable Chinese financial institution, I am planning to launch more personnel exchange between two sides of the Pacific, and working with other partnering companies to provide more opportunities to the potential returnees. David Zhang– Candidate for Board Director
Managing Director and Head of Securitization Research, MSCI
David Zhang is currently a Managing Director and head of Securitization Research at MSCI. His group is responsible for securitized products research, modeling, and analytics that support MSCI’s clients in investment, risk and portfolio management, regulatory requirement, and indices. MSCI’s 7000 clients across 85 countries include pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, wealth management firms, banks and insurance companies. We serve the 99 of the 100 largest financial firms. Before joining MSCI, David worked at Credit Suisse investment bank for 12 years, as a Managing Director and head of Securitized Products Quantitative Research. His group was responsible for securitized products modeling and analytics for trading strategies, capital and risk analysis, regulatory requirement, and client analytics. His group has been consistently top ranked by various industry and client surveys, including Institutional Investor All American Research team, and Greenwich Associate Survey. The mortgage models on the online platform Locus were one of the most used analytics system in the industry. David worked in Freddie Mac, CIBC Oppenheimer, and University of Chicago after his PhD from Princeton. He serves as director for PRMIA (Professional Risk Management International Association) NY chapter, as well as for GCREC (Global Chinese Real Estate Congress). He has published widely in academic and industry journals.
Election Statement
I have actively supported the TCFA and the Chinese financial community in general. I have arranged senior wall street executives to speak and participate in various TCFA events and to meet with Chinese finance professionals in the U.S. and in China. This includes today’s keynote by our CEO, and last year’s investment panel by our head of research. I have also organized and arranged funding for many PRMIA, AFS (Asian finance society) events last few years. In my own area of focus, securitizations and housing, I have been heavily involved in various discussions and meetings between Chinese regulators, financial institutions and U.S. securitization professionals to help the interactions and cooperation between our two countries. If elected board member, I look forward to engaging further more with the TCFA, and the broad Chinese financial community. The areas I can help include more cooperation between TCFA and other organizations I am familiar with, promoting careers of our junior members, education outreach, etc.

Wenzhe Zhao– Candidate for Board Director
Director, Credit Suisse
Wenzhe Zhao is a Director at Credit Suisse in both the Global Markets Division and the International Wealth Management Division. He works with the Chief Economist and the Investment Committee to generate outlooks for the global economy and major financial markets, which impact the bank’s and its clients’ investment portfolios. Wenzhe possesses in depth knowledge of the world’s largest economies and financial markets. His area of expertise includes world manufacturing sectors, international trade, economic growth, and Chinese economic development. Before coming to New York, he was based in London, working with the Chief Global Strategist of Credit Suisse. Wenzhe has worked closely with financial professionals of various types in global financial centers. Wenzhe holds a Master of Philosophy in Economics from Cambridge University and a First Class BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. He is on the Philanthropy and External Engagement Committee of the Asian Professional Network at Credit Suisse and active in helping unprivileged communities in New York.

I would like to run for the board of directors, because I am passionate about serving the community that I admire and I care. Seven years ago, I arrived in New York and I learned about TCFA. And since then almost everyone I met from TCFA, has inspired me in one way or another. They impressed me with their professionalism, their commitment to a purpose, their open-mindedness to controversies, their strong sense of responsibility, and their excellence in their own fields. Unsurprisingly, I soon became a volunteer in TCFA and later a Core Member, making frequent contributions to the organization and its events. Last year, I organized a speaker’s event that attracted over a hundred attendees. I also helped other organizers to invite speakers to key events, including the annual conference. In recent years’ conferences, I was also responsible for issuing press releases and coordinating with media coverage. In today’s event, I also oversaw conference logistics. Working alongside with people that I share value with, I feel extremely fortunate. The force that binds the extraordinary people together is nothing but TCFA’s mission. This organization is committed to build connections and foster understandings between China and the US. On one hand it helps Chinese students and professionals to excel professionally, and on the other it helps US professionals tap into a network of their Chinese peers. This is an especially valuable motivation in today’s environment, when voices of isolation are prevailing. I am determined to lever all my experience and resources for this endeavor. And as a board member, I will be better integrated with TCFA, and serve the community much more effectively. Linjia Zhou CFA– Candidate for Board Director

Linjia is Managing Director and Head of Corporate Development of Zenity Holdings New York, a Global Industrial Investment Corporation headquartered in China. Prior to that, Linjia was Executive Director and Head of Diversified Industrials and previously Head of U.S. Corporate Banking of ICBC New York where she managed global banking relationships with global Fortune 500 and leading U.S. companies, and top Chinese firms across all corporate banking products, including: M&A financing, investment grade and leveraged financing, cross-border transactions, M&A advisory services, trade finance and supply chain financing, real estate and project financing, treasury and cash management services, etc. Her sector coverage included Diversified Industrials, Technology Media and Telecommunications, Healthcare, Consumer, Energy and Commodity, Real Estate, Financial Institutions, etc. Linjia was a member of the Bank’s Credit Committee, Asset and Lability Management Committee, and 401K Committee. Prior to ICBC, Linjia was a manager at American Express’s global headquarters in charge of customer acquisition and credit strategy. She was a member of American Express’s 1st Global Leadership Express Program, a fast track management program. Prior to that, Linjia was with UBS Global Asset Management’s New York Office. Linjia is Executive Vice President of The Chinese Finance Association (TCFA) and Committee Chair of TCFA’s FinTech & Blockchain Institute. She was former CFO and former Board Member of TCFA. Linjia received her Master’s degree in Economics from New York University and Bachelor’s degree in International Investment from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and is a CFA charterholder.
Election Statement
I am very glad to join the TCFA Board Election this year. I have a long history with TCFA back since 2006 and has been a TCFA management team veteran with various roles including former CFO for many years, former board member and have been Executive Vice President for many years. During my time at TCFA, I had a variety of responsibilities and lead multiple initiatives including setting up global finance platform with local Chapters, annual conference planning for multiple years and inviting key note speakers such as Asia Chairman of NASDAQ, etc. My recent key initiative for TCFA is co-founded the FinTech & Block Institute. The Institute is set up as an interdisciplinary global platform to promote idea and knowledge exchange among experts from Industry, Academia, Regulator, Star-ups and Investors in the FinTech and Blockchain space. With my long term history, knowledge and extensive experience with TCFA as well as experience and network in the financial industry in both US and China, I would like to broaden TCFA’s branding and network in the global investment industry and introduce the latest cutting edge investment themes, experience and network to TCFA.
